What Is a Price Per Unit Calculator?
Package sizes are designed to make comparison hard. Is a $3.99 jar of 24 oz peanut butter a better buy than a $5.49 two-pound tub? The sticker prices won’t tell you, because they describe different amounts of product. A price per unit calculator strips away the packaging and compares what actually matters: the cost of each ounce, gram, milliliter, or piece. How It Works
The core formula is simple division — the whole trick is doing it in the same unit for both items:

Item A costs $3.99 for 24 oz: 3.99 ÷ 24 = $0.166 per ounce. Item B costs $5.49 for 2 lb — that’s 32 oz — so 5.49 ÷ 32 = $0.172 per ounce. Despite its bigger sticker price and bigger jar, Item B is actually the worse buy: Item A is about 3.1% cheaper per ounce.
